Digital Painting

The strongest aspect of my work would be coloring in everything in the end to make it look neater. Somewhere throughout making this project, all of the painting that I did got cut, and become choppy. I went through and fixed everything to my specification. An aspect of my work that could be improved on would be blending everything together. Some parts of my work was easy to mix, other parts like the clothing for instance were more difficult to blend. I think I did a good job with blending overall.

The easiest part of this project would have been tracing the original image. I sketch a lot of picture like this, and it is the one thing that I love to do. The most difficult part of this project would have to be painting and blending everything together. Whenever I draw a picture in my drawing book, I have to make it look "perfect". The easiest part to drawing is sketching, just like with the pictures that I draw, I have the most difficult time coloring in and blending everything.

For this art activity I demonstrated how to use different varieties of the mixer to give my basic flat colors depth and how to use the eyedropper tool. Just like with the paintbrush tool, I painted the depth with the mixer brush. Using the sketch part of my project as a guideline, I would use the mixer brush tool to make certain areas darker, lighter, and more detailed. To use the eyedropper tool, I would pick up the colors from the image that I made a digital painting from. I picked up all the different hair colors, clothes color, skin colors, etc. If I could change something about my project, I would choose a different picture to make into a digital painting. I thought that this project would take only a week or two to complete, but having a photo as intricate as this one took longer than expected. I would go with an image much more simpler than this one next time.

Hybrid Animal

The strongestaspect of my work would have to be the healing of the parts added onto the killer whale. I was able to choose what I wanted to add to the killer whale, then I healed the images to look like a realcreature. An aspect of my work that could be improved on would be actually adding the new animal parts onto the main animal which in this case would be a killer whale. I had to manipulate the dolphins head because the dolphin that I found an image of was to small for the killer whale. Once I manipulated it, I had to set it into place so that it would fit onto the killer whale.

The easiest part of this activity would have been placing the animal parts onto the killer whale. Each layer added onto of the killer whale took some time. In the end I was happy with the positioning of each of the added parts of my hybrid. The most difficult part of this art activity would have been healing the added parts onto the killer whale. The healing tool would either heal to much, heal to little, and it took some time to figure out how to heal the image to how I wanted it.

In this art activity I demonstrated the cloning tools and healing tool. I used the cloning tool to copy the particular animal parts that I wanted to place onto my background animal. I also used 10th cloning tool to copy the texture from the lion and placed it onto the killer whale. I used the healing tool to make the new animal parts look like they are part of the killer whale. It took a few times to get it right, but after awhile I was able to get the new animal parts to look like they were on the killer whale the whole time. If I could do something different with this project, I would choose different animals. I would probably choose a dog, cuttlefish, and a fish.

Andy Warhol Pop Art

The strongest aspect of my work would be the color selections chosen for each image. This would be my easiest aspect because I know how certain colors contrast on the color wheel. An aspect of my work that could be improved would be the type of image used for the project. Sense there is night in the background of the original image, it turns the image into a silhouette. When the image is a silhouette, there aren't  as many color opportunities or a full image.

The easiest part of this project would have been manipulating the original image so there would be various sections of colors. All I had to do was make the image black and white, then put a filter on the image so there would be various sections of colors ranging from white to black. The most difficult part of this project would have been choosing the area for the colors in each image. Figuring out the colors that I wanted was simple, but putting them onto the final image was difficult. I couldn't have two of the same colors next to each other, and I couldn't have two dark or two light colors next to each other.

I demonstrated the objective in this art activity by painting the same image four different times using contrasting colors so that you could still see the image. First, I had to manipulate the original image so that there would be different shades ranging from white to black throughout the entire image. Then, I choose a bunch of contrasting colors to use to paint in the each section. Once all this was done, I had to place the images evenly onto a blank sheet so I could line up everything evenly. Something that I would do differently if I were to do this project again would be to use a different image. For this project I had an excallent idea, I would choose an image of my friend and me so I would be able to use is as part of my secret buddy gift. Once this project is completed, I will print the image and put it into a picture frame that I would be able to give her as a gift when we go to Ohio to perform our color guard show.

Mixed Media-Polaroid Collage

The strongest aspect of my work would be how I layered the polaroid images over the original image of myself. This would be my strongest aspect because I placed a polaroid over an important part of the background image. The polaroids highlight the rope wrapped around me, the triangle on my forehead, and my hand holding the flag pole. An aspect of my work that could be improved on is creating the background image. You can tell that there is an "X" but with the colors that I chose, you can't really see them work together well to represent Scotland's flag.

The easiest part of this art activity would have been drawing the feathers. I love to draw, so that is why that part was easy for me. The most difficult part of this art activity would be adding shadows to the polaroids. I was able to put shadows onto the polaroids before I cut the image that wasn't inside the polaroids. After I cut the image, the shadows weren't how I wanted them, so I had to redo them again.

I demonstrated the objective for this project by spreading out the polaroids, adding the shadows to the polaroids, and creating a background using different ideas and drawings of my own creation. First, I found a photo that was taken during one of my color guard competitions this year, and placed blank polaroids in various directions on top of the image. Then I overlapped all the polaroids by using the magic wand tool so that the polaroids would look like they are spread out on a flat surface. I then combined all the polaroids, and erased the image that wasn't present in the polaroids. I added shadows to the polaroids, and moved the finished product to where I wanted it. Sense the theme for the color guard show is Highland Games, I designed a background that looked like the Scottish flag. I then added an image of a feather, where I warped them, and gave them a different style to the drawing. If I could do this art activity again I would choose a photo of my family to work with. I don't take many photos by myself, so I would have preferred a photo with others including myself to work with.

Tattoo

The strongest aspect of my work would have to be my shell drawing. I love to draw, so when I give myself a challenge like this, I have to go all out and make sure that it is done to my specifications. An aspect of my work that could be improved on would be fixing the shell on Photo Shop. Once the shell was on my project, it was very challenging to get it to look like a tattoo. I had to fix the coloring of the shell by having it fade into the photo, then warp it to the photo where I wanted it, then brighten or darken the shell where it was needed.
The easiest part of this activity for me was changing the background image of my friends Bubbles, Pikachu and I (these are their summer camp names). All I had to do was change how much black and white were present throughout the image, so it wouldn't look very bright. The most difficult part of this activity would have been the burning and dodging of the shell. I had to dodge the shell where it was bright on the background image, and I had to burn the image where it was darker in the background. Once I determined where the dodge and burns should go, I had to determine how much of each I would have to use, and figure out what looked most similar to the background image.
I demonstrated the warp tool in my shell image by warping the shell to the part of my body which it is on. I demonstrated the dodge and burn tools by burning the top of the shell to match the darkness of my skin, and dodging the bottom of the shell to match the brightness of my skin. Once I applied the warp tool, dodge tool, and burn tool, I then blurred the image of the shell to the part of my body where the image is. If I could do this art activity again I would change the image for the tattoo. A different image I would have chosen would have been a cute little cuttle fish.

Self Portrait Collage

The strongest aspect of my work would be the fading in and out of certain pictures. I made sure to fade out the images covering the words throughout the background, so the entire quote can be viewed either all together or at different sections. An aspect that could be improved on would be the placement of certain images on my project. At the bottom, there are two images that are not faded into the background, the rest of the images are faded. I could have moved the faded images somewhere else on the project.

Finding the images for this project was easy. I had to think about all the things that are in my life on a daily basis, then I put the images onto my project. Something that was difficult about this project would have been placing the quote in the background. Once I finished typing the quote I had a difficult time finding colors that would make the quote pop out or look right in the background. I ended up turning the quote into  different patterns or colors that blended into the background.

For this activity I needed to put together a Self Portrait Collage. I like anime, drawing, my cat, flowers, butterflies, orcas, and color guard. I have two images that on my project that I drew, one image that my friend drew for me at summer camp, an image of Sebastian and Ciel from Black Butler, a picture of my cat Sebby (his full name is Sebastian, his name comes from my name that I go by at summer camp, Sebastian which is taken from Black Butler), a butterfly, a person holding a color guard rifle, an orca, and a flower crown on Sebby. If I could do this project over again instead of making a single project with a few of the many things that make up me, I would have a Power Point. For the Power Point, I could edit images in Photo Shop to fit onto various slides so there would be various pictures for each thing that makes up me instead of just one.

First Name Typography

One of the strongest aspects of my work would be the placements of the different variations of the letter "T". The only letter that I was able to use for this particular project was the letter "T". Without the letter "T" present in my work, the only thing that would be left is the black gradient background. One aspect of my work that could be improved is the placements of the "T's" in the amount of space available for the entire project. From my perspective, there is some space that could still be utilized with different variations of the letter "T".

The easiest part of the art activity would have to be manipulating the different variations of the letter "T". It took me some time to figure out how to put different layers onto my work, but once I figured out how to add the different layers with the letter "T", then I was able to manipulate the letters anyway that I wanted. The most difficult part of this project for me would have been adding the different layers and figuring out how to place the letter "T" onto the work. I was able to manipulate the letters easily, but I had a difficult time figuring out how to put the letters onto my work. Trying to put together each layer took me longer than I anticipated, but i managed to get it done.

I demonstrated contrast by having different variations of the letter "T" in the same area be different, whether it be size, position, wrap text, or color. I demonstrated repetition by using the same letter in different variations; the boarder is made of 3D "T's", and in the top right corner the 3D "T's" are the same but with different variation to each one going across the X axis. I demonstrated alignment by having rows of the letter "T" expand from the center; as you follow the rows with your eyes, they take you to little sections with the letter "T" present in different variations. I demonstrated proximity by grouping the letters starting at the black square in the top left corner, from there at the end of the rows of "T",  there are specific groups of the letters in different clusters. If I could do this activity again, I would come up with a plan to place the letters in a particular pattern so they can make a shape or a picture.
